About the Founder - Jim Brown Boot Camp

I spent my life’s apprenticeship as a student, a dishwasher, a waiter, a factory worker, a construction laborer, a stone tender, a Rugby player, a weightlifter, a bouncer, a lobsterman, a salesman, a writer and a successful multi-million dollar international hi tech entrepreneur. Me and my wife Susan, live on Boston’s North Shore. I am the one and only drop-out from North Shore Community College to ever be a guest lecturer at both the Harvard Business School and the M.I.T. Sloan School of Business Management. A Mensa Member, (a high end Mensa member no less,) I was plagued most of my life with both Binge Eating & Substance Abuse. Working directly with or following the strict direction of the Mayo Clinic, Mass General, the Tufts Medical Center, the Harvard Medical School, the McLean Hospital, Edward Hallowell, MD, and the Hallowell Foundation, author of the Driven to Distraction ADHD book series, George Sachs PsyD, Ana Gomes, DNP, Patricia Quinn, MD, Tom Hartman, Linda Zylo

Reprogram the Computer...

When the new recruits show up for their first week of Boot Camp, there’s a whole range of set up steps their ordered to complete. One of the big ones is: Clear the decks for action. 1.)    And if this sounds crazy to them, We DON’T CARE! * We have them go through their entire house, room by room, and rearrange all of their furniture. They often need some help doing this but wither they do or do not, they must take each room, and turn the whole thing around. The head of their bed’s against one wall, they move it to another, same deal with every piece of furniture in every room of their house Once this task is complete, they are required to answer our prompts before we let them move to the next step in our process.                                                                   *** *   “WE DON’T CARE!” That’s what I to say to all my campers right out of the gate, because though after week three, I do back off on them a bit, up until that time as I of

Get a trash bag and raid the refrigerator and cabinets

One of the first general orders for all Jim Brown Boot Campers is to: Go through both their refrigerator and all their cupboards and make sure they have a large plastic trash bag in hand. I have them start filling that bag of theirs with all sugared and diet colas. They’ve GOT to go. Studies go back and forth as to which one of these toxins is the worst for you, sugared or diet, but it’s a real jump ball. In a 12oz can of sugared soda, there’s on the order of eight teaspoons of sugar... EIGHT . And to make matters worse, virtually all sugared sodas use High Fructose Corn Syrup. You hear a lot about High Fructose Corn Syrup, but what’s so bad about it? Here’s what: There’s dozens of studies, the most famous of which used a couple dozen Gorillas. For 90 days they put them all on an extremely high fat diet, weighing in before and after...There was some weigh gain with Group one, but nothing anywhere near outrageous. They attributed this to their over

ALL CAN GOODS IN THE TRASH BAG

ALL CAN GOODS IN THE TRASH BAG Actually I go back and forth on this with my campers, and ended up dropping mine off at a food shelter...With one notable exception; Canned Soup. I didn’t realize this until I followed up with the Mass General study and then saw the exact same thing in a Harvard Medical School Study, but coming up on thirty years now, all caned goods are lined with two plastic components:    Phthalates and Bisphenol-A (BPA,) That’s the very same stuff they warn you about when they tell you never to microwave food in plastic containers. It’s bad news no matter how you slice it. But by far, the absolute worse are the canned soups. There’s study after study that shows if a person has canned soup for just five days in a row... JUST FIVE . When tested, they will have 1000 times as much BPA in their systems as they did prior to that five days... ONE THOUSAND TIMES! Now there are people in this world who are hungry and they have to eat someth
